I was lucky enough to spend some years in the Internet business when it was completely pre-bubble awesome. From paper millionaires to decadent parties, it was a total rush and we naively thought it would never end...*POP!
One of the most exciting companies for a short spell was a dotcom named Kozmo. They delivered anything you needed for mindless distraction and entertainment, to your doorstep, in under an hour. Books, music, ice cream, Krispy Kreme donuts, porn, almost anything via a sick fleet of bike messengers.
They unfortunately grew to quickly and were one of the first to implode under their own buzz machine. I actually think they would have a better chance now that we have seen the success of Netflix, Fresh Direct and GameFly.
Anyway, perusing youtube, I came across this home-made documentary on Kozmo that really brought me back. Those messenger bags were a prize item for a time, wish I still had one...
AMEN! Those were the days! Sox.com! :)
