Where Do You Go (My Lovely)

With the release of the Hotel Chevalier this week on iTunes, the pre-movie to Wes Anderson's latest, most of the buzz that I heard was about the soundtrack (well that and Nat Portman's ass). Many people were mentioning the bizarre yet earwormish quality of the song that plays off and on throughout.

With a little looking you can find the artist of the 1969 song, Peter Sarstedt, playing it on youtube (you cannot buy the song yet on iTunes without getting the whole Darjeeling Limited soundtrack), but I actually was digging this version of a video that I found where the creator used images to explain all the references within the song to the younger set who might not get all the obscure mentions.  So as we gear up for the release of the film this weekend, get out your notebooks and learn ya something.

Ask A Chola

I came across this series yesterday and I think it is pretty good. Social video is great for character creation as you can do and test so much while spending so little. Check out AskACholaTV, a LA gangsta chick character with a conscious. She wears a green bandana to raise awareness of global warming. She does PSA's for the barrio. It is humorous and whoever does it is surprisingly productive, there are over 30 vid spots and growing! She does not seem to have that many views yet, but it is the kind of thing I could see catching on.  You heard it here first!

I know they are a client of mine and I have blogged them before, but I am really digging some of the commercials that users are creating for Vespa's Go Green contest.  They are the perfect brand for CGM because they have a cultish, loyal following who by definition of being Vespa owners/lovers, have a creative bent.

Houses Do The Darndest Things

Now this is madness! Like the good kind of madness, not like earworm madness. These people created a sick lightshow with all of their xmas decorations and scored it to "Wizards In Winter" by Trans Siberian Orchestra. These are like those freaky people who put up decorations for every holiday, but to the 10th power. Heh heh, get it, power. ok i am done.
