Guy locks bike outside his building in brooklyn. Other guy comes along, steals tires off bike. Other guy caught on security tape doing so. First guy gets footage, writes song, makes music video and 21,000+ have seen it. Other guy still on the loose.

Question, is the theft a benefit and worth the lost tires for all the spins of the guys tunes and page views?

Nothing like seeing Woody cursing up a storm to get a smile on my face. Luckily, they did not re-create the Jennifer Connelly performance scene.

Whether To Laugh or Cry

When I heard about this new idea from Sony for the Minisode network with MySpace I was not sure what to think. To take 22 minutes of sitcom awesomeness and chop it down to 3-5 minute shorts seems to smack of a sincere lack of editorial integrity, then again, we are talking about show's like What's Happening and Silver Spoons.
I decided to take one for a test drive. Don't get me wrong, it was great to see Rog, Re-Run, Dwayne and Dee again. And yes, Momma does still bring the pain with her physical and psychological punishment, but after the initial smiles faded, I was left empty. The story seemed like a cliff notes version of an archie comic. The things they cut out, the dialog, the set-up scenes, the dancing!, and the family dynamics were what made the show great. To go from money shot to money shot (using the term VERY loosely when discussing What's Happening) seemed to leave me short.

I think I will stick with my memories of the famous Doobie Brothers' episode, you can have these hi-light reels.

Funny Or Die - Not So Funny

So now that Funny or Die has been out for a while, I decided to take a few minutes and see if it were actually funny.   I took a random sample of 'non-Will Farrel' vids from the much talked about comedy site.  I decided to take in 10 or so vids from their highest rated of all time category.  Although I tried to be open about it, I have to say, I did not find many of them funny, in fact there was a distinct lack of funny in most of them. So in the end is it that people making home comedy are not funny? Or that production experience, shot composition, re-writes and actors are what makes funny funny?

This is rated IMMORTAL on FoD And this is comedy why?????
